There is nothing better than a tasty recipe that’s also easy and simple to through together. That’s exactly what this lemon oregano chicken is: tasty, simple, and quick.

Greek Marinade

The marinade is inspired by greek ingredients: lemon, olive oil, garlic, and oregano. These ingredients put together make some of the best chicken dishes I have had.

I recommend marinating the chicken for at least half an hour before cooking, but the longer the better.

Chicken Breasts or Chicken Thighs

You can use both in this recipe. It’s based on what you prefer, both would create delicious and healthy meals.

I personally prefer chicken breasts, so that’s what I used.

A note about chicken thighs: you will probably be able to cook them quicker. Check them at 25 minutes and see if the juices run clear.

If you use a meat thermometer (like this one) here are the temperatures you want to see:

  • Chicken Breasts: 165F
  • Chicken Thighs: 165F.

How to meal prep this recipe

If you’re looking for an easy week of lunches, I recommend doubling this recipe. It’s not just for dinner. Meal prepping would make your weekday lunches so much easier.

Shred or cube the chicken and serve it with salads, stir-fries, or rice and veggies for simple and easy lunches.

Pack it away in glass meal prep containers, and your lunch is made for the whole week.

How many calories are in this greek chicken recipe?

As always, with every recipe. The calorie count will vary. Every chicken breast is a different size and weight, but this count will give you a guideline.

For 1/3 of the recipe, the calorie count is roughly 284 calories. It’s actually a little less because the count takes in the marinade (more specifically the oil) and not all of the marinade is consumed.

Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Mix the marinade in a medium bowl and add the chicken breasts. Marinate for as much time as you have (I recommend at least 30 minutes).
  • Pre heat oven to 375F
  • Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Add the chicken breasts.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until chicken is cooked.
