- 1 head cauliflower
- 1/2 cup soy sauce or gluten free alternative (I used coconut sauce)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder
- sesame seeds and green onions for garnish.
Air Fried Cauliflower
Cut up the cauliflower into bite sized pieces. Set aside.
1 head cauliflower
In a large bowl add the soy sauce (or alternative), brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger bowl. Whisk together.
1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil, 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
Add the cauliflower florets and toss until covered.
Place the cauliflower on the air fryer basket and air fry at 400F for 15 minutes. Check on them at the 10 minute mark and shake them so they don't burn.
Sweet and Spicy Asian Sauce
Add the marinade to a sauce pan, then add the teaspoon of cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Turn the heat on to medium heat and whisk until thickened.
1 teaspoon cornstarch
Pour over the caulifower or serve as a dipping sauce with optional garnishes.
If you're not a fan of spice, add 1-2 teaspoons of the chili garlic sauce.
Air Fryer Tips
- Do not preheat your air fryer for this recipe. Add the ingredients and then turn it on.
- Check the cauliflower bites at the 10 minute mark. Give it a shake to prevent burning.
- If the cauliflower looks done at this point, take it out.
- If you have a traditional air fryer, these air fryer liners will help save you a mess.
- Add the cauliflower to the air fryer basket in a single layer. This will help the air hit all areas for even cooking.
Storage
If you have any leftovers, you can store them in an air-tight container or wrap the bowl with plastic wrap.
The leftover cauliflower will be soft, it loses its crispiness as it sits I found (but it still tastes delicious).
I put some leftovers on a salad I made for lunch, and it was delicious but this would also be good in a stir fry.
